Counting Crows @ Molson Amphitheatre

Another venue first for me!

This time - the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre. The Amp is one of the biggest venues in the city, so this was definitely a milestone for me! As I stood in the photo pit staring up at the large stage, I felt a sense of accomplishment for making it this far in my concert photography 'career'! To top it off, my parents and brother decided to purchase lawn seats so they could tag along to the show :)

I'd heard that the Molson Amp's stage is very high, and was preparing myself for the worst. Although it is higher than the smaller venues' stages, the high(er) stages in my summer festival musical circuit had prepared me well. Fortunately, the bands performing that night came up to the front of the stage during our allotted first three songs, which made it much easier for me to capture their performances.

Rob Thomas' "Her Diamonds" has been my Dad's ringtone for the past 5+ years. He played a variety of songs from his solo albums, as well as Matchbox Twenty tunes. These songs are absolute staples in the Filipino cover band setlist, so my entire family was well acquainted with the songs he performed.

The fam has actually seen Counting Crows perform once before at the Molson Amp - back in 2008 where Maroon 5 and Sara Bareilles opened.

A special bonus for the evening - our tickets gave us complimentary entrance to the CNE! Not a bad family outing!
