Nick Murphy (fka Chet Faker) @ Danforth Music Hall

A few months ago, the artist known as "Chet Faker" decided to reclaim his name. And thus, he now goes by "Nick Murphy". Montreal songstress, Charlotte Cardin, opened up the evening at the Danforth Music Hall. I first heard Charlotte on last year's Field Trip and Osheaga rosters, and thoroughly enjoyed her jazzy voice. She's since made remarkable strides, and as of this writing, is scheduled for a two night residency headlining the Danforth early next year. You go girl! Full s

    Lauryn Hill @ Budweiser Stage

Lauryn Hill is notorious for showing up late to her shows. She addressed this trend in a Facebook post back in 2016, stating: "I don't show up late to shows because I don't care. And I have nothing but Love and respect for my fans. The challenge is aligning my energy with the time, taking something that isn't easily classified or contained, and trying to make it available for others. I don't have an on/off switch. I am at my best when I am open, rested, sensitive and liberate

Portugal. The Man @ Danforth Music Hall

Portugal. The Man, the Lords of Portland, and best thing to come out of Alaska, have had an exceptional year. While I've seen these guys perform a few times (NXNE 2012, Pinkpop Festival 2014), this was my first time photographing them. Rather than addressing the crowd with forced "banter", they p

    Khalid @ REBEL

I saw Khalid briefly during The MTV Woodies Awards earlier this year, While he only graced the stage for a very small amount of time, I was taken with how grateful he seemed to be there. At only 19 years old, his career has taken off rapidly - and this is a well deserved accolade for the talented performer and musician. Train @ Budweiser Stage

Radio nostalgia was in full effect for me during Train, OAR, and Natasha Bedingfield's stint at the Budweiser Stage. Natasha's tune "Unwritten" is one of my all time favourite songs due to the nature of its message. Unfortunately, it was not one of the first three songs she performed, and as per typical Bud Stage protocol, we were ushered out after first three. Train frontman, Patrick Monahan, has mastered the art of catching cellphones, selfie-ing with them, and tossing them
